Community Partners

We have strong ties with the broader music community in Lane Cove and the Lower North Shore, including with the Lane Cove Concert Band  and the Lane Cove Youth Orchestra, who are key partners.

Such ties mean we can provide pathways for musicians now and into the future. Doing this will allow our students to accelerate and expand their musical education and proficiency at playing their instruments.

The lane Cove Concert Band organisation

The Lane Cove Concert Band was formed in 1963 and is incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act.

Currently it consists of the Cameraygal Wind Symphony, under the baton of Gavin Staines, the Turrumburra Concert Band led by music director Megan Lipworth and the more recently formed Karingal Concert Band under the baton of Dan Williams. Our subsidiary groups include a big band/jazz ensemble titled Stringybark Jazz led by Music Director Bob Pritchard and a woodwind ensemble Tambourine Bay Winds, led by their Musical Director Dave Braybrook as well as Burns Bay Big Band led by Jeff Camilleri.

The Bands play in various community events, local, state and national competitions and host their own indoor and outdoor concerts each year.

The lane Cove Youth Orchestra

The Lane Cove Youth Orchestra is a community youth group offering quality music and recreational opportunities in a friendly, safe, co-educational environment. LCYO regularly participates in community events, holds a variety of concerts each year, some formal and others more casual, and gives extra performances when requested by sponsors.

LCYO is always keen to experiment with different performance spaces and styles and regularly invites other music or arts/cultural groups to participate. This provides a diversity of cultural experiences for our players and audiences.
